Our Journey

Nizams and Nawabs of India

Embark on an odyssey through the corridors of history, where the echelons of power were adorned with silks, adorned with jewels, and echoed with the whispers of cultural opulence. At the School of Experiential Learning and Comprehensive Excellence (Curriculture), we extend an invitation to delve into the opulent world of the Nizams and Nawabs— a journey through history that echoes with tales of affluence, refinement, and enduring legacies.

Curriculture's educational travel experiences unfold the saga of the Nizams of Hyderabad, where the magnificence of the Deccan plateau found its epitome. From the grandeur of the Chowmohallah Palace to the iconic Charminar, students traverse the landscapes that once bore witness to the reign of the Asaf Jahi dynasty. The legendary Nizams, adorned in pearls and diamonds, were patrons of art, literature, and architecture, creating a legacy that resonates through the palaces, mosques, and vibrant bazaars of Hyderabad.

The Nawabs of Avadh, adorned in royal attire and surrounded by an aura of sophistication, were patrons of poetry, dance, and culinary arts. Curriculture explores the architectural splendor of Lucknow, from the resplendent Bara Imambara to the intricate Rumi Darwaza, showcasing the enduring legacy of the Nawabs in the heart of Uttar Pradesh.

Delve into the cultural renaissance fostered by the Nizams and Nawabs, where art and literature flourished under royal patronage. Curriculture invites students to explore the Nizami manuscripts of the Golconda School of Miniature Painting and the literary gatherings at the Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen, where poets and scholars converged to celebrate the richness of Urdu and Persian literature. In Lucknow, students witness the grace of classical dance forms like Kathak, a testament to the Nawabi patronage of the arts.

Curriculture unfolds the architectural marvels left behind by the Nizams and Nawabs, inviting students to walk through the ornate corridors of the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, adorned with Italian marble and exquisite chandeliers. The Bara Imambara in Lucknow becomes a living testament to the Nawabi architectural finesse, with its expansive halls and the mysterious Bhool Bhulaiya. The Golconda Fort and the Charminar stand as iconic structures that whisper tales of regal grandeur and strategic brilliance.

Explore the culinary extravagance that defined the Nizami and Nawabi courts. Curriculture’s programs engage students in the delectable world of Hyderabadi Biryani, the aromatic Nihari of Lucknow, and the sweet indulgence of Shahi Tukda. The rich culinary heritage becomes a delightful entry point into the cultural refinement that unfolded within the royal kitchens.
